The FGard UVIR is a high-capacity ultraviolet-infrared flame detector designed to detect hydrocarbon flames that are outside the visible spectrum. The explosion-proof device features sophisticated IR detection algorithms and variable sensitivity levels to meet various environments and spatial conditions. It comes with microprocessor-controlled heated optics that ensure reliable operation in hostile conditions without interference from snow, ice, or condensation. An integrated optical verification system constantly checks the lens and internal wiring for cleanliness, eliminating the need for manual checks. Featuring a large optical surface that also minimizes false alarms, the FGard UVIR is designed for fast detection—able to detect a hydrocarbon pan fire within less than 5 seconds at a distance of more than 130 feet.
