PERLORUS
Perlorus is a bearing-taker equipment that can be applied in situations where a normal compass cannot be employed. It is a valuable piece of equipment to use when there are visual hindrances or restricted access that does not provide an open line of sight for the compass, such as when it is mounted on a bridge or viewing platform. The Perlorus allows operators to take bearings from nearly any angle, thereby providing good navigation under unfavorable conditions. Its usefulness is self-evident when a compass cannot be easily accessed, like in bearings from non-compass positions for use.
