Simrad ECDIS systems

ECDIS systems are a modern replacement for traditional navigation charts. ECDIS or Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems are installed aboard vessels to display electronic navigational charts (ENCs) and offer a paperless alternative. Unlike traditional paper navigation charts, ECDIS systems overlay input from other navigational instruments like RADAR and GPS and show the direction and heading of the ship. All ECDIS systems are compliant with the SOLAS (Safety of Lives At Sea) requirements.

Simrad’s ECDIS systems are based on Windows Operating Systems and are very feature-rich, with capabilities such as route planning, route monitoring, and automatic ETA computation. These systems are designed by navigators for navigators with an intuitive interface.
