SPAN GNSS+INS Technology
SPAN GNSS+INS Technology integrates GNSS satellite positioning with inertial navigation data to provide accurate, and continuous 3D positioning, even during long durations without GNSS signals. Developed by Hexagon NovAtel, and marine optimized by Veripos, SPAN provides the essential information of absolute position, velocity, attitude, and heave to enable dynamic positioning and hydrographic surveys. The tightly coupled nature of the integration provides for enhances GNSS tracking and reliability in difficult offshore conditions. SPAN operates with maximum scale IMU’s of the IMU-ISA-100C or IMU-μIMU-IC type, as well as, utilizes the LD900 receiver and Quantum visualisation software. Where dynamic positioning is concerned, SPAN will provide suitable orientation and stable positioning performance required for maintaining safe vessel control, or maintaining station-keeping, whilst operating in hostile marine environments.
