Zenitel Navigational Aid

Zenitel offers a unique navigational aid that offers enhanced visibility for crew members and helps enhance the safety of vessels: 8300 MkII Sound Reception System.

The system is designed to pick up and isolate foghorn sounds from nearby ships and reproduce them in the bridge. The system helps crews be aware of other ships in low visibility conditions and in rough weather, where the sound may not be heard inside the bridge. To avoid confusion, the system automatically mutes itself when the ship’s own foghorn is being sounded.
